The Village Schools Federation Governing Board is committed to ensuring that our schools provide the very best education and opportunities for every child.
We believe it is important that our governing board reflects the diversity, values and experiences of the communities we serve. A diverse governing board brings a broad range of perspectives, strengthens decision-making and helps promote an inclusive culture across our Federation.
The governing board regularly reviews its composition, skills and experience to ensure governors are well equipped to support and challenge school leaders effectively. In line with data protection responsibilities and due to the relatively small size of our governing board, we do not publish individual diversity information online.
School governors are volunteers who work closely with the Executive Headteacher and school leaders to provide strategic leadership, accountability and support across the Federation. Governors play a vital role in helping our schools flourish and ensuring that every child receives the highest quality education and care.
The governing board’s core responsibilities include:
Setting the strategic vision and direction of the Federation
Holding leaders accountable for the educational performance of the schools
Ensuring financial stability and effective use of resources
Supporting and challenging the Executive Headteacher and senior leaders
Monitoring standards, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Ensuring that all children, including those with SEND, are supported to thrive
Promoting a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum
Upholding the Federation’s vision, values and inclusive ethos
The full Governing Board meets at least once each term, with committee meetings also taking place regularly throughout the year.
If you are interested in becoming a governor and supporting the work of our schools, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact the Chair of Governors via the school office for further information.
