Week 2

This week we have been learning about multiplication. As part of this we have used arrays to help us.

An array is a visual representation usually made up of dots or objects arranged in rows and columns. Children learn that the number of rows multiplied by the number of columns equals the total number of dots or objects.

For homework this week we would like you to find examples of arrays around the home such as egg boxes, cupcake baking tray, drawer unit etc.

Please see examples below:

The egg box is showing 2 x3

The window is showing 2 x2

The filing cabinet is showing 4 x2

The chocolate bar is showing 4x4

Any examples you find can be drawn or photographed and either brought into school or emailed to me at: rpicton@sheringtonschool.co.uk

Due in: 19/11
