This week we have had a mini Values Week, where we have reflected on our school vision and explored the values of Truthfulness, Perseverance and Service.
On Wednesday we learnt about the fable ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’ and talked about the importance of telling the truth. On Thursday we rolled up our sleeves and found the determination needed to help us to persevere. We learned the magic word ‘yet’ and added it to the things we can’t do. ‘I can’t solve maths problems’ soon changed to ‘I can’t solve maths problems yet’. We put our perseverance to the test by playing challenging games and we even made ice cream in a bag by shaking the mixture for a very long time! We were very pleased we persevered when we got to taste it! On Friday we explored service and the children made biscuits for each other. After lunch, the year 2’s worked hard to prepare the garden for planting in the spring.
A fabulous return after the Christmas Holidays.
