A very warm welcome to Sherington Chruch of England Infant school website.

I am delighted to be Executive Headteacher of the Village Schools Federation of Sherington CE, Stoke Goldington CE, North Crawley CE, Newton Blossomville CE,  St Andrews CE and Emberton schools. Our collaborative partnership and strong links enable our pupils to have enriched learning opportunities through the sharing of staff expertise, joint activities (such as trips, sports days, celebrations) and collaborative practises across the six schools. We federated in December 2017 after many years in partnership with St Andrews CE School.  I took on the Headship in January 2018 and from September 2018 we welcome our Executive Deputy Headteacher, Mrs M Younger.

The Village Schools Federation has one Governing Board who are passionate about the special and unique opportunities that small village schools, like Sherington, offer pupils.  The Governor's passion led to the federation in order to secure the future of local village schools and sustain the opportunities for individualised learning in small classes with high adult:pupil ratios, and an enriched curriculum that uses the local community, local environment and pupils experiences and interests alongside the National curriculum.  I have taught, and more recently been Deputy and Head, of village schools for the past 12 years, I attended a village school myself and am passionate about leading Sherington on it's journey to Outstanding.

Sherington School is situated in the village of Sherington on the edge of Milton Keynes and near Olney.  It is surrounded by open spaces, 2 miles from Emberton Park and close to the historic town of Olney and Newport Pagnell.  Sherington school has extensive grounds with a pond, wooded areas, nature garden and a large playground. We use the immediate environment as an extended classroom and last year introduced forest school style activities into the weekly timetable.  Sherington pupils are happy and caring and are taught and nurtured by a team of dedicated staff who are committed to inclusive practises and safeguarding.  The school benefits from the close partnerships with parents and carers, the local church and the pre school. We pride ourselves on our Christian ethos and Christian values which underpin daily life. Teaching at Sherington CE School is a privilege, learning is a joy, as one parent commented 'We couldn't have wished for a better start for our child'.

If you would like to visit us and see us in action, please call the office and arrange a time, you will be most welcome.

We are one, we are strongest working together in unity. Teamwork is the key to living life in harmony, so that we can do God's will. 1 Corinthians 12:14

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. Colossians 3:23

Best Wishes
