PTFA

Welcome to the Parent, Teacher & Friend's Association section!

The PTFA runs a very successful private (all parents are invited to join) Facebook Page which updates parents on events in school. This is run in line with our social networking policy. We also respect that not all families have access to computer or smartphone so do send out paper copies and email of all information as well.

We have a Social Networking Policy; Ms Shedden writes "The purpose of the Social Networking Policy is to protect the reputation of employees of the school and the school as a whole from intended or unintended abuse via personal employee usage of social networking and personal internet sites. The school recognises that such sites are increasingly useful communication tools and acknowledges the right of employees to freedom of expression. However, employees must be aware of the potential legal implications of material which could be considered abusive or defamatory and must at all times bear in mind the need to remain compliant with Milton Keynes Council’s Code of Conduct."

The PTFA sponsored chicks scored 8/10; 8 healthy chicks hatching from 10 eggs. The children have been delighted to watch their 'epic' struggles to release themselves from from confining shells.

"Hello Sherington. Nice to hatch here. Thanks for looking after us."

Thanks to the generosity of the PTFA the children greatly enjoyed a trip to MK Theatre to see the Northern Ballet perform The Three Little Pigs. The experience of live theatre with a coach trip thrown in was a lovely way to end the summer half-term.

Easter activities on the last day of the Spring Term

What a fantastic morning - thanks to everyone who came to watch the children celebrate Easter. The bonnets and hats were wonderful and the egg-rolling great fun, and just a little bit competitive, as always.

We hope you enjoyed the PTFA provided refreshments which were intended as a big thanks to you our wonderful parents, staff and supporters.

You've helped us to raise over £600 this term alone and subsequently allowed us to buy new equipment and provide extra fun outings for the children. In addition to the things you are already aware of (trip to see Northern Ballet and the wonderful new Noah's Ark), there are a number of very exciting things in the pipeline for next term and beyond. Look out for more updates soon.

A very special mention of thanks to
Anne Shedden, Colin and all other members of Sherington CE staff for helping us realise our new fundraising ideas.

And finally....ENORMOUS thanks to the best wing-man a PTFA could ever have - Claire Lawrence
, we'd be lost without you (and probably still locked in the playground)!

Best wishes for the Easter hols! Sherington CE PTFA
